Our Social Enterprise
 Our Mission

WISEPlace provides programs that inspire, support and empower women to become positive contributors to the community.

 The Need

One of the most pressing social needs in Orange County is the issue of homelessness. The County of Orange reports that there are more than 21,000 homeless individuals, almost double the number reported in 2000. More than half of the homeless individuals reported are women and childrenNo community, including the affluent ones, has been unaffected by this problem.

 Helping Women Help Themselves

Women that end up homeless include former abuse victims, seniors, 18-years-olds emancipated from foster care and those with developmental disabilities. They are women who find themselves without shelter. Searching for a new beginning, a way to once again be contributing members of society. At WISEPlace, we're here to help.

How do we know our Program works?
  • Our program served 94 Orange County women in 2011
  • 92% of residents that completed the "Steps" Program obtain employment and housing
  • 62% of graduates moved into permanent housing, 38% moved into an appropriate 2nd stage program
  • 60% of Positive Step residents moved into permanent housing
  • Women in our program measurably increased their feelings of self-respect and their ability to use conflict resolution    techniques in their daily life.

WISEPlace is a participant of Homeless Management Information Systems (HMIS).
