Capital Campaign

Since 1929, WISEPlace has transformed the lives of hundreds of unaccompanied women each year by providing safe, transitional and emergency shelter with wrap-around services such as case management and counseling, along with healthy meals, financial-empowerment curriculum, and employment assistance. We have helped women move from homelessness and hopelessness to a path towards personal stability.

In 2017, we announced the most extensive Capital Campaign in our 90-year history: a $5 million endeavor to modernize our aging facility and create 30 new permanent supportive housing rooms. Thanks to longtime WISEPlace supporters, recent contributors, and the nonprofit community, we have raised nearly $1 million that allows us to continue services for these women, keep them protected, and off the street.

Heading into a new decade, WISEPlace is taking a giant leap forward that will enable us to address the growing homeless population of unaccompanied women. In October 2019, WISEPlace formed a building partnership with Jamboree Housing Corporation on a $25 million campaign, which allows for a transformative renovation project to become the long-term solution for the homeless in Orange County.

Together, Jamboree and WISEPlace are working to design and complete an expanded and thoroughly modernized and compliant renovation of WISEPlace’s current 26,030-square-foot facility in Santa Ana. The new facility will include 52-units of fully furnished permanent supportive housing, a fully operational kitchen with dining hall, financial empowerment learning labs, dedicated wraparound service areas with private counseling and case management spaces, and a welcoming outdoor area complete with community gardens and space for domestic pets. All while still offering the same trusted programs and support for women in need of transitional shelter.

This expanded vision needs your help to raise an additional $3 million to help close the financial gap and to impact the future of longterm permanent housing directly. Dollars raised will be committed towards the administration and operational costs needed to keep WISEPlace open as a sanctuary for women in need. With your help, we can positively impact the growing homeless crises on our streets in Orange County and beyond.
